听力原文:W: Alex is an English teacher in Iran and today wed like to share his experience as a teacher. So welcome Alex. How do you enjoy teaching English as a foreign language? M: I like teaching students how to speak. And I really enjoy seeing them learn and improve. Ive been teaching for five years now, and Ive got good experience from my classes. I teach in institutes and also universities and theyre a bit different. People who come to institutes are highly motivated because they come with their own legs. As they say, and as we say, theyre quite interested. They try to be active. But for the students at universities, because they have to pass some courses, they might not be interested enough most of the time. W: Well, you say that recently youve been trying to be a creative teacher, and to stimulate students. So tell me about that. M: Well, most of the time I try to make them motivated by just making the class more fun and interesting. W: What do you find is the hardest part of being a teacher? M: Well, the hardest part is that a teacher has to forget everything in his life before going to a class. W: What do you mean by that? M: You see, if you are sad, if you have a lot of ups and downs in your life, when you enter a class, you have to be a teacher full of energy, very happy. You have to forget about all your problems. If you just take your problems to the class, you wont be a good teacher. Questions 13 to 15 are based on the conversation you have just heard. 13. Why does Alex enjoy his teaching job? 14. 未知题型 听力原文: Tom was one of the brightest boys in the year, with supportive parents. But when he was 15 he suddenly stopped trying. He left school at 16 with only two scores for secondary school subjects. One of the reasons that made it cool for him not to care was the power of his peer group. The lack of right male role models in many of their lives — at home and particularly in the school environment — means that their peers are the only people they have to judge themselves against. They dont see men succeeding in society so it doesnt occur to them that they could make something of themselves. Without male teachers as a role model, the effect of peer actions and street culture is all-powerful. Boys want to be part of a club. However, schools can provide the environment for change, and provide the right role models for them. Teachers need to be trained to stop that but not in front of a childs peers. You have to do it one-to-one, because that is when you see the real child. Its pointless sending a child home if he or she has done wrong. They see it as a welcome day off to watch television or play computer games. Instead, schools should have a special unit where a child who has done wrong goes for the day and gets advice about his problems — somewhere he can work away from his peers and go home after the other children. Questions 22 to 25 are based on the passage you have just heard. 22. Why did Tom give up studying? 23. What seems to have a bad effect on students like Tom? 24. What should schools do to help the problem schoolboys? 25. When is a teachers work most effective with a schoolboy?22.A.Peer groups.B.A special unit.C.The student judges.D.The home environment.
